About Us
The Luxe Almari was created with a simple but powerful purpose: to transform how we buy, wear and value South Asian fashion.
As a peer-to-peer marketplace, we connect buyers and sellers to give preloved South Asian clothing a new life — from luxury designer pieces to affordable everyday styles. For too long, our community has fallen into the “wear once” cycle, where beautiful outfits are worn for a single event and then stored away. Luxe Almari exists to change this narrative by making it easy, sustainable and rewarding to pass these garments on.
But our mission goes far beyond resale.
We want to make South Asian fashion accessible to all, regardless of budget, background or occasion. We believe these pieces shouldn’t be reserved only for weddings, festivals or family functions. The craftsmanship, colour, creativity and heritage woven into every outfit deserve to be enjoyed in everyday life — paired with Western wardrobes, styled with confidence and worn proudly in any setting.
Luxe Almari is also about representation and cultural pride. South Asian fashion has historically been under-represented in mainstream culture, despite its global influence and artistry. We are committed to changing perceptions by celebrating these designs openly, encouraging people to embrace their roots, and inviting non-South Asian communities to discover and appreciate their beauty too.
At its heart, Luxe Almari is a space for sustainability, community and connection — a place where clothes tell stories, traditions are honoured, and everyone is welcome to be part of a more circular, inclusive fashion future.
Bal Deol
Founder The Luxe Almari
For over 25 years, I’ve worked in marketing and communications across media, education, finance, travel and law. Throughout every chapter of my career, one passion has followed me everywhere: South Asian fashion.
I’ve spent much of my life travelling to India — a place that feels like a second home, where my family lives and where my love for craftsmanship, colour, and creativity truly grew. Each visit has opened my eyes to the incredible artistry behind South Asian clothing: the handwork, the heritage, the stories woven into every thread. I’ve always believed these pieces deserve a space in the global fashion conversation — not just occasionally, not just within our own communities, but proudly and visibly in everyday life.
Yet in the UK, I’ve seen how South Asian fashion can feel niche, expensive, or reserved only for big occasions. I’ve also seen how South Asians themselves aren’t always represented or recognised in mainstream fashion and culture. I created The Luxe Almari because I wanted to change that narrative.
My vision is simple but powerful:
To make South Asian fashion sustainable, affordable, accessible — and mainstream.
A huge part of this mission is showing how South Asian pieces can effortlessly blend into Western wardrobes. From pairing a stunning embroidered jacket with denim, to styling a classic kurta as everyday work wear, I want to help people make their clothes — and their investment — work harder. South Asian fashion doesn’t need to be saved for special events; it can be worn, loved, and celebrated in the everyday.
The Luxe Almari is my way of honouring our heritage while re-imagining how we wear it today — with conscious choices, modern sensibility and inclusive luxury at its core.
Thank you for being here and for joining me on this journey. Together, we can open up the almari and share South Asian fashion with the world, beautifully and boldly.
